The
Spherical Near-Field Antenna Chamber
The Center is proud to provide a fully functional near-field
antenna chamber for use by students, faculty, and industry
members alike.
Such near-field measurements provides a fast and accurate
method of determining antenna directivity, pattern, and
polarization measurements in a single scan. Information such
as the far-field pattern, antenna gain, antenna directivity,
cross polarization level, beam width, beam pointing, phase
center position, and defocusing can all be determined by
post-processing of the near-field data.

The
chamber is run by NSI 2000 Standard Edition software that is
both simple to understand and use. In addition, technical
assistance for both the hardware and software is available
from the staff. The Center boasts open-ended waveguide
probes ranging from 1GHz to 26.5GHz.
The chamber is available to all who are interested. Fees are
determined by internal users and external users. The fee
structure is found below:
External Users
(Industry and private ventures): $1600 per day ($1200 for
chamber usage and $400 technical service charge)
Internal Users (University students and faculty): $200 per
day (plus $100 technical service fee if required)

The
Planar Antenna Chamber
The Center
also provides a fully
functional planar antenna measurement
chamber that is capable of
doing high
frequency measurements from 26 GHz to 100 GHz.
